Privacy policy

Last updated 5 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Flair Du Bois collects through this website, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have. We handle personal data in line with Rwanda's Law No 058/2021 of 13/10/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy.

Who we are

Flair Du Bois is a furniture, woodwork and interior design business based at KG 632 St, Kimihurura, Kigali, Rwanda. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us about anything in it at info@flairdubois.com or on +250 790 003 319.

What we collect

When you send an order request

Your name, email address, phone number, delivery address or collection choice, the pieces in your cart, and any notes you add. We use these to call you, confirm your order, arrange delivery and payment, and keep a record of the sale.

When you send an enquiry

Our contact, bespoke, interior design and trade forms collect your name, email address, phone number, your message and the answers you give (for example the type of piece, your district, budget or company). We use them only to answer your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to carry out the work.

When you browse

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. We set one cookie that keeps your cart and order request together as you move around the site (a session cookie). Our servers also keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses and error reports, to keep the site secure and working.

Why we may use it

We only process your personal data where the law allows, namely:

• to take steps you have asked for before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract (your order request, commission or project);
• to meet our legal obligations, for example keeping accounting and tax records;
• for our legitimate interests in running and securing our business, where these do not override your rights;
• with your consent, where we ask for it. You can withdraw consent at any time.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not send you marketing unless you have asked us to.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only as needed to serve you:

• with the members of our team who handle your order, delivery or project;
• with service providers who host our website and send our email, under agreements that require them to protect your data;
• with a bank or mobile money provider when you pay us or we refund you;
• with authorities, when the law requires it.

Some of these providers may store data outside Rwanda. Where that happens, we transfer it only as permitted by Law No 058/2021 and with appropriate safeguards in place.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you and follow up, and order records for as long as the law requires us to keep business records. After that, we delete or anonymise the data.

Keeping it safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections to this website and limited access within our team. No system is perfectly secure, so please contact us straight away if you think your data may have been compromised.

Your rights

Under Rwandan law you have the right to:

• be informed about how your personal data is used;
• access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
• have inaccurate data corrected, and have data erased where there is no longer a reason to keep it;
• object to or ask us to restrict the processing of your data;
• ask for your data to be transferred to another organisation (data portability);
• not be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing.

To use any of these rights, email info@flairdubois.com. We may need to confirm your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA), which supervises personal data protection in Rwanda.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
